Be bold, creative, and innovative

In today's corporate and business world, whoever is more creative, innovative, and bold will be ahead of others. This is part of the lesson of innovation and change. The other part involves relearning and unlearning besides learning. As Alvin Toffler pointed out "The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn." I hope all of you will take time to reflect on Toffler's thought and determine how you can practise what he has said in your own learning.

I am so glad that some of you have started this innovation and change journey by initiating some change in your life. I must confess I am not sure what Sally Nia means when she said she wanted to start a date with the Star. Perhaps, she might want to clarify this so that all of us can help her with her journey. Carr, I think exploring animation change and innovation is certainly a great way to start this journey.

Is there hope for innovative thinking?

As students who have been taught the rote learning and memorising way of learning, is there hope for all of you to think innovatively now? Are you afraid of change? Are you afraid to take the risk to embrace a new way of learning? No more spoon feeding, no more relying on the teacher for answers, no more worrying about marks but it's time to apply what you are going to learn to real life situation, to connect all you are going to learn in different courses together and see the big picture. It is time for a new beginning, for something different, something challenging. I therefore, invite all of you to journey with me to the world of innovation and change.
